Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 24-07-2026
Welcome to Secondhalf. Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms", "Agreement") carefully before using our website and services. By accessing or using our site, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.
1. Ownership of the Site
This website, including all its subdomains, pages, and content, is owned and operated by Secondhalf, a sole proprietorship registered in the Netherlands.
2. Copyright and Intellectual Property
All content available on this website — including product images, descriptions, logos, designs, and written text — is the intellectual property of Secondhalf or its content suppliers, unless stated otherwise.
You may not reproduce, republish, redistribute, or exploit any content from this site without prior written permission.
3. Use of the Website
By using our website, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information.
- Refrain from engaging in illegal, abusive, or disruptive behavior.
- Use the website solely for lawful personal or commercial purposes.
Misuse of our website or content may result in denied access, legal action, or termination of your customer account.
4. Products and Descriptions
We do our best to describe products as accurately as possible. However, as our items are vintage, some may show signs of wear. Each product listing includes a quality grade (A, B, or C) to guide your expectations. Please review descriptions and images carefully before purchasing.
5. Orders and Payments
All orders are subject to availability and confirmation. Prices are listed in euros (EUR). As Secondhalf operates under the Dutch margin scheme for second-hand goods, no VAT is charged or deductible on the items sold, and VAT is not itemized on invoices.
Payments are processed through secure third-party providers. Secondhalf reserves the right to cancel any order at its sole discretion — including, but not limited to, orders suspected of fraud, abuse, or violation of these Terms.
6. Shipping and Returns
We ship within the Netherlands and across the European Union via PostNL. Shipping rates and estimated delivery times are listed on our Shipping & Returns page.
Please note: Return costs are the responsibility of the customer unless agreed otherwise. If the product is damaged or the packaging is more damaged than necessary to inspect the product, we may charge you for the depreciation in value.
So please handle the product with care and make sure it is properly packaged when returning it.
7. Right of Withdrawal
For the delivery of products:
When purchasing products, the consumer has the right to cancel the agreement without giving any reason for a period of 14 days. This reflection period starts on the day after the consumer, or a third party designated by the consumer and known to the entrepreneur, receives the product.
During the reflection period, the consumer shall handle the product and its packaging with care. He will only unpack or use the product to the extent necessary to assess whether he wishes to keep it. If the consumer exercises his right of withdrawal, he shall return the product with all delivered accessories and – if reasonably possible – in its original condition and packaging, in accordance with the reasonable and clear instructions provided by the entrepreneur.
If the consumer wishes to make use of his right of withdrawal, he is obliged to notify the entrepreneur within 14 days of receiving the product. The consumer can notify the entrepreneur by using the model withdrawal form or by another means of communication, such as email.
After notifying the entrepreneur, the consumer must return the product within 14 days. The consumer must provide proof that the goods were returned on time, for example by means of a shipping receipt.
If the customer has not notified the entrepreneur of their wish to exercise the right of withdrawal within the periods mentioned in paragraph 2 and 3, or has not returned the product, the purchase is considered final.
Please find here a withdrawal form the customer can use.
For the delivery of services:
In the case of services, the consumer has the right to dissolve the agreement without giving any reason for at least 14 days, starting on the day the agreement was concluded.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, the consumer shall follow the reasonable and clear instructions provided by the entrepreneur with the offer and/or at the latest upon delivery.
Costs in case of withdrawal
The consumer shall bear the direct costs of returning the product.
If the consumer has paid any amount, the entrepreneur shall refund this amount as soon as possible, but no later than 14 days after the withdrawal. This is subject to the condition that the product has already been received by the seller or conclusive proof of full return has been provided.
Refunds will be made using the same payment method the consumer used, unless the consumer explicitly agrees to a different method.
If the product is damaged due to careless handling by the consumer, the consumer is liable for any depreciation in value.
The consumer cannot be held liable for any depreciation in value of the product if the entrepreneur did not provide all legally required information regarding the right of withdrawal before the conclusion of the purchase agreement.
Exclusion of the right of withdrawal
The entrepreneur may exclude the consumer's right of withdrawal for products as described in paragraphs 2 and 3. Exclusion of the right of withdrawal is only valid if the entrepreneur has clearly stated this in the offer, or at least before concluding the agreement.
Exclusion of the right of withdrawal is only possible for products:
- that are made according to the consumer's specifications;
- that are clearly personal in nature;
- that, by their nature, cannot be returned;
- that can spoil or age quickly;
- whose price is subject to fluctuations in the financial market beyond the entrepreneur's control;
- individual newspapers and magazines;
- audio and video recordings and computer software whose seal has been broken by the consumer;
- hygienic products whose seal has been broken by the consumer.
Exclusion of the right of withdrawal is only possible for services:
- related to accommodation, transport, catering, or leisure activities to be carried out on a specific date or during a specific period;
- whose delivery has begun with the explicit consent of the consumer before the reflection period has ended;
- concerning bets and lotteries.
8. Dispute Resolution
In case of complaints, the consumer must first contact the entrepreneur. If the webshop is affiliated with WebwinkelKeur and the complaint cannot be resolved by mutual agreement, the consumer should contact WebwinkelKeur (www.webwinkelkeur.nl), which will mediate free of charge. You can check whether this webshop has an active membership via https://www.webwinkelkeur.nl/leden/.
If a solution is still not reached, the consumer has the option to have the complaint handled by the independent disputes committee appointed by WebwinkelKeur. The decision of this committee is binding, and both the entrepreneur and the consumer agree to this binding decision.
Submitting a dispute to this committee involves costs, which must be paid by the consumer to the relevant committee.
9. Limitation of Liability
Secondhalf is not liable for:
- Any damages caused by delayed delivery, product misuse, or third-party failures.
- Minor variations in color, condition, or fit of vintage items.
- Website downtimes, inaccuracies, or technical errors.
Use of this site is at your own risk. We make no guarantees of uninterrupted or error-free operation.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate user access if any activity is found to violate these Terms or applicable laws.
